About Pamela

This year I am celebrating
15 years teaching Yoga!

Back in 1995, managing my stress levels led me to Yoga, when I worked as an IT Support Analyst, for a large law firm in Birmingham. My local gym was running Yoga classes, and made me appreciate how hard it was for me to relax, not to mention how inflexible I was!

After completing the 3 year/500 Hour BWY Teaching Diploma in 2006, I’ve qualified in many other forms of Yoga including: Yoga for Strength, Yoga for Sport, Yoga Children & Teens Yoga, Yoga for Anxiety and Depression, and most recently Yoga for Trauma – a form of therapeutic Yoga.

I’ve trained with some amazing and world renowned teachers; these include Peter Blackaby (author of Intelligent Yoga’), Alistair Shearer (translation of the Yoga Sutras), Philip Xerri (classical pranayama), and more recently Sadie Nardini, who embodies modern yoga practice, with her anatomy-enhanced flow yoga style.

A move to Northamptonshire in 2007, I gave up my corporate career and set up Pamela Deal Yoga. Now in my 15th year of teaching, I offer classes in the local community as well as private yoga sessions, workshops and day retreats.

My own health journey and recovery: being diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome in 2012 (a rare auto-immune condition affecting the nerves), has given me an insight into the strength of positive thinking and overcoming hurdles with Yoga.

I also love being outside, being upside down, walking in the fresh air; being by the sea, reading, a good film, as well as wine, cheese, Gin and baking (which is why I need to do walking and do Yoga!)
